Creative Psychotherapy
Creative psychotherapy can give you the time, space and direction to make sense of how you’re feeling, to explore and heal the past, work with what’s happening in the present and create the future you want.
Often, we don’t make time for our mental health; it’s time for that to change. Integrative counselling/psychotherapy provides the consistency of time and space to work on a very deep level. Having a regular, safe and supported space where you can allow everything to slow down, to take a breath and be, without expectation, judgement or criticism.
I use a combination of modalities in a way that works for you, that allows you to focus on internal processes at your own pace. I have training in Creative Therapies, Transactional Analysis, Solution Focused Therapy, Breathwork and Meditation. This allows me to have a flexible and creative approach and have access to different therapeutic models to find the right fit for you
My approach is holistic in that I consider all parts of you, your body, mind and emotions. There is a huge benefit to tuning into your body and recognising how emotions affect it. Most people who experience high emotions, trauma or stress will feel it in the body as well as internally.
Working creativity may involve some artwork, imaginative play, regression, Inner child, Parts therapy or meditation. Incredible changes can happen in one session when the focus is on the process. It also allows me to work gently and creatively with trauma and empowers the client to move through it in a safe and controlled way. Art/Creativity acts as a bridge between the internal and external world. Art can sometimes bring to life what words cannot express.
The framework I use is Solution-Focused Therapy, which allows us to work towards change. In our first session, we decide what the best hopes are for therapy, what the therapy can provide, and we use that as a guide through our sessions.
The more I connect with self within. The easier it gets to connect with the world outside.
